Map your app
Discovery is how Pie maps your app: it explores the screens, finds the key features and writes test cases under each one. Review that map and keep it accurate as your app changes.
Before you start
- Your app has been through discovery, which Pie runs when it first maps your app. If the Key Features card on the Dashboard is empty, write to support@pie.inc.
- Access to the app in Pie. New to key features and test cases? See How Pie works.
Read the key features
On the Dashboard, find the Key Features card. Each key feature has a name, a description and a count of its test cases. Select one to see its test cases, each with its result, and the issues that affect it.
Rename and reorder them
On the Key Features card, select the pencil icon (Edit key features). Change a name, description or icon, drag a key feature to a new position or delete one, then select Save. Every key feature needs a name.

Add a key feature Pie missed
On the Key Features card, select the plus icon (Add key feature). Enter a Title and a Description, then select Add. Pie then asks whether you want to draft test cases for it now. Select Yes, take me to canvas to write one in Pie Canvas, or select I’ll do it later to add tests later.
Check the test cases under each
Open Test Cases to read the test cases. To put one under a different key feature, select Move to another Key Feature in its menu. This option needs at least two key features.
Keep the map current
When a flow in your app changes, update the test cases that cover it. You can edit and rerun a test in one action. See Create and edit test cases.
What you’ll see
The Key Features card lists your key features in the order you set, and each one opens to its test cases and issues. Test cases you move or add show up under their key feature.
Do this from your agent or API
Your agent reads and changes key features with manage_key_features, and re-checks a test case after a product change with trigger_rediscovery and a note on what changed. Over HTTP, use GET /v1/key-features, PATCH /v1/key-features and POST /v1/rediscovery.
